Customer Wishlist

Re-Build-It customers love our “Customer Wish List”! Just whisper in our ear what you’re looking for….and one magical day you may get a call from a “Re-Build-It Centre Genie” fulfilling your wish: )
Putting an order on “The Wish List” is not a guarantee of receiving an item when it comes in. We always put donations on the floor first and make phone calls on a rainy/snowy day. Our customers that come in daily always get first chance at purchase.

Auction

How does it work? Bids may be placed in person at The Re-Build-It Centre daily between the hours 10am-5pm. Bidding closes at “high noon” the determined date listed for each item. In the case more than one bidder is present at the close of the auction we will commence into a live auction until a high bidder is determined. All winning bids must be paid for by 5:00 pm the end of last bidding day. The next highest bidder will be contacted for all items unpaid.

Boutique

Our Boutique is tucked away upstairs at The Re-Build-It Centre. Usually we stock The Boutique with paintings, pictures, antiques, and other fine furnishings. On occasion The Boutique is transformed into a “Winter Wonderland”, Original Art Auction or an event like this year’s “Repurpose Art Auction”.

Cheap Whistler Lift Tickets

Going skiing at Whistler?

WOW! Did Whistler Blackcomb lift tickets hit $139????

Whistler Blackcomb Resort Lift Tickets | Most Current Pricing
Day Child (7-12) Adult (19-64)
Weekday CAD$70.00 CAD$139.00
Weekend CAD$70.00 CAD$139.00
Half Day – –
2-day pass CAD$139.00 CAD$278.00

Holy smokes!

There ARE discounts to be found tho:

Buy accommodations, bundle it with ski lift tickets

Go to 7/11 – that’s my deal go to!

Purchase lift tickets online up to midnight the night before you ski, https://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/purchase/tickets-and-passes/winter-lift-tickets and save time & money. Or add days to your existing EpicDay card and head straight to the lift! Your ticket gives you the following benefits: access to both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains including the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, Terrain Parks and Halfpipe, along with complimentary Mountain Orientation Tours.

Edge Cards – multi day lift ticket passes – you must be a BC or Washington state resident

Edge Cards come pre-loaded with either 1, 3, 5 or 10 days of discounted skiing/riding. As logic would suggest, the more days that you buy up front, the cheaper it is per day. And once your pre-loaded day(s) are used up, you continue to benefit as the price of each subsequent day on the mountains is also discounted.

Note that the 10-Day edge passes are only available before the ski season begins.

Is It A Good Deal?
In a word… YES. And it is an especially good deal if you purchase your card before the winter season starts. By doing so you will enjoy an extra 10% to 15% savings over the regular season prices.

In fact, if you want the best deal possible you should make sure that you purchase a Whistler Edge Card for next season before this winter season ends. Not only will you guarantee yourself the best pricing, if you purchase a 5 or 10 day card you will get a free bonus day of skiing or snowboarding before Christmas of the following season.

$85 tickets are sold by the Students’ Union at Capilano University in North Vancouver. I called them the other day to clarify some of the details and here they are:

Cost

As I mentioned earlier, the cost of the tickets are $85 including tax. That’s $11.26 cheaper than comparable 7-11 Whistler tickets which sell for $96.26 including tax. They do not sell any Senior/Youth or Children’s tickets. If you want these type of tickets I recommend trying our Ticket Wizard or going to a 7-11 store.

Availability

These cheap lift tickets for Whistler are available to anyone. In other words you do not have to be a student of the university. I was also told that there were no restrictions on the number of tickets that you can purchase at one time either.

Important Tip: It is a good idea to call the Students’ Union ahead of time (see phone # below) to make sure that they have the number of tickets that you require on hand when you arrive. There is a finite number of tickets available for each season so if you are trying to purchase them later in the season you may be out of luck. Again… call ahead of time to check availability.

Where To Look For Deals in Whistler BC Canada

You want deals in Whistler on accommodations, meals and activities?

Here’s what to do:

Starting with a place to stay, the shoulder seasons are where the deals are to be had. Look for off peak deals, at times like after Easter to end of ski season, after summer to ski opening. On top of that, summer rates are routinely a half or a third of what they are during peak ski season.

Try the whistler resort association, or WRA, at http://www.whistler.com – CALL THEM and ask for current deals – in winter $250 a night is common, in summer you can find $100 a night – but the REAL deal is to find a great place for around $100! Im thinking of a townhouse with hot tub for $100 – heck of a deal!

Without even calling, you’ll find an area for deals on the right hand side of their website, check this out:

Whistler Last Minute Deals

Many hotels have unsold rooms to fill, but are unable to advertise these ultra-low rates under their brand names.
Suite Secrets offers the best last minute Whistler deals on accommodation.

The name of your accommodation will be divulged after you reserve

Resortsquest offers some of the nicer, feature packed, townhouse with hot tub type of accommodations – https://www.resortquestwhistler.com/specials.aspx – dates in october yielded roughly $200 for 2 nights stay – and up!

FOOD – get to Whistler, grab The Pique, or Whistler Question, but for me The Pique always has tons of ads for off season 3 course dinners for $25 – $35 – look for the very best restaurants – Bearfoot Bistro, Rimrock

There ARE cheap eating options, year round – from delis to Subway or A+W to sushi, pizza, burritos, tacos, Peaked Pies (yummm) 7/11 – eeek! you CAN eat cheap!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

ACTIVITIES – again, check The Pique newspaper – found everywhere in Whistler – tons of ads for deals on activities, now that you are here!

Though there are an amazing variety of $100 things to do – and up – from heliskiing to ziptreking, to bungee to skiing to gondola rides, find dining, etc

FREE STUFF – concerts -From the sweet sounds of classical music to chilled out beats and local folk bands, Whistler Olympic Plaza is the place for free outdoor concerts from May through September. Bring your picnic blanket and dancing shoes, and take free transit to the weekend concerts all summer.

Hikes to lakes, train wrecks, up mountains, around lakes, etc – bring your bike!

CHEAP STUFF – Generally non motorized sport activities are less, ie. Horseback riding is cheaper than ATV etc.

Winter – snowshoe, cross country skiing, sightseeing lift pass, tree top canopy walk (with Zip Trek), tube park, evening sleigh ride on Whistler or during the day at Nicklaus North.

Summer – sightseeing lift pass, canoe or kayak in Alta Lake (self guided), biking and plenty of hiking, swimming in Lost Lake, Rainbow Park or other, Geocaching. The Blackcomb Adventure Zone has family friendly activities, such as a luge rides, horse and pony rides, trampolines, and climbing walls.

Throughout the summer, there are festivals (such as the BBQ competition at Dusty’s), concerts, Crankworks, farmer markets and street entertainment, Cornacopia in the fall. In the winter there’s Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival, free Fire and Ice Show on the weekends that you watch from the base of Whistler. Eagle viewing on the way up to Whistler at Brakendale (mid November to early February). There’s always the museums, Meadows Park Sports Centre with a pool, ice skating rink, squash courts, indoor climbing wall at the Core and the movie theatre.

Whistler Deals – Great Deals On Whistler Accommodations, Restaurants And Activites!

As a resident, business owner and frequent skiier at Whistler, I have realized that there are “secrets”, things to see and do that the average visitor to Whistler has NO idea about. I’ll try to pass along a local’s knowledge, but know that Whistler is a paradise all of its own – these secrets merely add to the magic!

First off, go skiing! There are TWO massive, amazing, challenging, world class mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, this is the largest ski area in North America – and there are tons of double black diamond, off piste, crazy stuff to explore – so get ready for over 5.000 vertical feet of skiing!

total skiing fitness

Hotels can be $300 a night and up during ski season, and peak summer season – but three ideas have saved me money on accommodation. First, there is a condo booking agency called ResortQuest that can offer off season specials – I stayed in a gorgeous townhouse a block from the village square, with hot tub, fireplace, kitchen, sleeping 4-6 people in the early fall – save 35% on booking 3 days or more at 1-888-898-9208 – ask about any deals like that!

If you are sociable, and willing to both ENJOY and put up with the common areas of a bed and breakfast – Chalet Beau Sejour had bed and breakfast in a spectacular chalet looking out on the mountains for $130-170. Very social hosts, and a dining table looking out on the mountains with double sided fireplace and mulled wine while visitors from around the world discuss snow and ski conditions simply can’t be beat!

Lastly, there are several hostels – rooms are in the $30 to $40 range, search for Fireside Lodge, UBC Whistler Lodge, SouthSide Lodge, and the brand new HI Whistler, in the former athlete’s village for the 2010 Winter Olympics – you may share a room with some interesting strangers, but that price leaves plenty of money for food and entertainment!

Whistler has an incredible array of high end restaurants, but one I found outstanding was the Edgewater Lodge, just north of Whistler a few miles. Check the picture in the website, combined with the Zagat quote “venison to die for” (they have their own venison farm) and you’ll be on your way!

At the other end of the spectrum, Peaked Pies, at 105 – 4369 Main Street – Australian meat pies that you will come back for over and over, especially after visiting Whistler’s bars and nightclubs!

Three bars stand out as amongst Whistler’s best, and offer a unique experience. Tommy Africa’s will attract the early 20s crowd, with glass DJ booth, the best local DJs and a zebra striped door! The Savage Beagle is a two level bar on the main walkway, with a crowded dance floor downstairs, and a “belly up to the bar” section upstairs. The “cougar bar” for 30s and up is Buffalo Bills, at the other end of the main walkway – live bands, great DJs and comedians have offered many great nights over the years.

Ski lift passes are often available at the 7-11 in Squamish or Vancouver on your way to Whistler for a discount that can be $10-20 per lift ticket. Lift lines are shortest at the Whistler Creekside lift, if you want to get going quickly, but I prefer the skiing at Blackcomb, the other mountain (they are joined at Whistler Village, and by the Peak To Peak Gondola)

The best kept secrets about Whistler are the summer activities – there are a group of pristine lakes to swim or canoe, mountain bikes with full protection gear are rocketed to the top of the mountain for rapid or tricky, descents, and the ski hill has a glacier at the top that is kept open until August!

There are some amazing events going on throughout the year, from Cornucopia culinary event to Gay Ski Week to the World Ski And Snowboard Festival, to Crankworks bike events to free concerts during the summer, to Tough Mudder – and there’s tons more!

Oh yeah, some guys named Palmer and Nicholas have golf courses, and there are ski camps, tennis camps, zip trek lines, heli hiking, white water rafting, fishing, horseback riding, ATVs – there are a LOT of great things to do, but bring money!!
